It is for those who are committed to change, higher consciousness, and feel called to step into deeper layers of their own truth.

Our world is becoming noisier, more distracting, and more aggressive in trying to get our attention.

TESTIMONIALS

" We were taken care of in such a masterful way with all the details carefully planned and thought of. The ambience that was created was conducive to do deep healing work and gave mushrooms the perfect platform to do as they were meant to. Foundationz held space for an invaluable experience for me. The whole process was beautiful and I would definitely

recommend these incredible space holders for support while journeying. With Brad and Lysh's presence, I felt incredibly safe throughout my journey which allowed me to dive deep into my own murky waters and clear stagnant energy"

         - Gin Perry, Yoga Teacher & End of Life Doula

" I was at a transition point in my life, leaving my job and trying to figure out what was actually important to me, what my values are and what do I want to do next. I wanted to get clear on what my life was all about.  During ceremony I had a lot of different breakthroughs, but I think the single most important thing I took away going through this process is that all we really have is the present moment. There is no point of getting constantly caught up in the future goals or the past challenges. The main thing to do is to find job and really be present with every moment. This is the best place to create from.

The experience I had with Brad and Gin through Foundationz was amazing. They made sure I felt safe and taken care of so that I could just focus on myself and my journey so I could get what I needed.

Roots ceremony is something that everyone could benefit from. It gives you the chance to step outside of what you think you know about life and yourself from a new pure perspective"

         - Ashton Stoop, Entrepreneur & Speaker

I had tried countless times talking counselling but I have never been able to release what was holding me back neither any action plans was ever discussed to help me move forward. After a few experience with lower dose of mushrooms, I knew that I had found the modality to help me with to reconnect with my internal family and releasing some of the emotions that was creating a vicious circle in my life. I am immensely grateful to have work with Brad. His expertise meant I went to the ceremony with right mount of preparation also leading to the journey, the ceremony was created in respect of the plant medicine. Through the journey, I felt safe and at peace to go deep in my journey knowing  that he was nearby if I need help but it was the end through and through my own journey, as he didn’t try to direct or intervene in the journey. Only a few key questions to deepen your journey when it was need it. From this experience, I take away a softness toward myself and the begin of my journey in to self love, an gentle and kind empty space that I am excited to feel with a new narrative and amazing memories, but most importantly, I am finally feeling that Im stepping into the light. If you are committed to your own healing, not afraid to take a look deep inside of you and want to work with the plant medicine with respect, I will recommend Brad as your facilitator. You will be reward with the gift of a renew life and appreciation for it.

With my blessings. Mathieu

WEEK 3: CEREMONY
Beautiful Nature

"Work with sacred plant teacher-healers is the freest form of human spiritual consciousness, and also one of the most advanced. It’s unconfining. You accept what you experience. And there's no end to it. It's an open-ended process for as long as you want to pursue it. That's the beauty of it; there's really no end to it."

MY STORY WITH MEDICINES

My journey with plant medicines began 5 years ago when I was in the midst of my first heartbreak. Since that time I have come to develop a tremendous respect for the wisdom that various indigenous plants around the world hold within them, and the wisdom that these plants allow us to find within ourselves, if we are willing to listen. I have experienced and learned the most profound lessons of my life, both challenging and beautiful in Ceremonies such as the one I will be preparing for you. I like to think of plant medicines as “the ones who know more about us then we know about ourselves.” But the lessons themselves are only the beginning. Integration and practice is where we achieve depth and lasting results.

In recent years plant medicines of all sorts are becoming recognized once again due the the increasing need for clarity, healing, and purpose. Psilocybin grows freely in nature all of British Columbia. If you know how to identify it, it can be picked with ease from the ground"

WHAT ARE PSILOCYBIN MUSHROOMS?

Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound found in some mushrooms (also known as “magic mushrooms”. Factors that affect the potency of the psilocybin mushrooms include: species, growth conditions, and age.  Psilocybin mushrooms typically grow in meadows and woods of the subtropics and tropics, with the majority being found in subtropical humid forests.

Psilocybin mushrooms have been a part of many cultures for thousands of years and has long been used for religious, spiritual and medicinal purposes. In recent times, several clinical trials have explored the potential therapeutic benefits of  psilocybin, one of the psychoactive components of magic mushrooms, for treating several conditions, with promising results for depression and addiction when taken with a clear intention in a controlled and responsible settings.

Psilocybin binds to serotonin receptors. These receptors are found within the thalamus and cortex of the brain. The thalamus is a key part of the brain responsible for sensory input. Psilocybin’s activation of these receptors seems to decrease thalamic activity, causing visualizations and altered states of consciousness.

In a 2014 study, the psychoactive effects of psilocybin were attributed to the heightened communication across brain networks  -  (source | thankyouplantmedicine.com)

ROOTS

Each of us has a special gift to offer the world.

To be truly fulfilled, we must share our gifts in a way the allows us to add value to the lives of others. Roots is about learning to live in truth with the awareness of our purest life offerings. This is applicable whether you are an artist an entrepreneur

or anything else you can name.

Being in alignment is a very difficult thing to do in life, even when we are clear on our values and vision. With out that clarity it is difficult to ensure that our behaviours are leading us to become the type of person we want to be.

This ceremony is about true personal and spiritual life reflection as well as having the discussions that need to happen, so you can begin holding accountability to what really matters in your life. Your life on earth is brief. This is about learning to follow your heart and cultivate the courage to act.

Deliberate change does not happen by chance. It takes hard work, deep intention, and a will to want to face the hardest parts of yourself and change.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the risks involved with mushrooms?

The most likely risk associated with psilocybin mushrooms is the “bad trip” (anxiety, fear, paranoia).  This is greatly minimized however through guidance, support, set and setting.

  • Another important consideration, is the integration of the experience into your daily life.  While taking psilocybin mushrooms, or other psychedelics, unconscious material may be brought to the surface during the session and if it is not worked through or integrated properly, may lead to negative emotions or experiences after the session has ended

  • Reports of complications are extremely rare, especially in supervised and controlled circumstances.  Moderate doses of psilocybin appear to be well-tolerated. With that being said, certain people should avoid using psilocybin.

DO NOT Take Psilocybin If…

  • You don’t understand what psilocybin is and its potential effect

  • You’re feeling pressured to take psilocybin because of others

  • You’re taking antidepressants such as SSRIs or antipsychotic medication

  • You’re pregnant or there’s a chance you are

  • You do not trust the person who is giving you psilocybin

  • You have a family history of mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or borderline personality disorder

  • You have severe clinical depression

  • You have or have had suicidal thoughts, attempts or instances of self-harm

  • You have a panic attack disorder

The combination of psilocybin and antidepressants can result in ‘serotonin syndrome’ which can be fatal. To be safe, it is highly recommended to avoid taking psilocybin with the following medications:

  • Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs).

  • Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (SNRIs).

  • Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs).

  • Tricyclic Antidepressants (TCAs).

  • Tetracyclic Antidepressants (TeCAs).

  • Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (NRIs).

  • Norepinephrine-Dopamine Reuptake Inhibitors (NDRIs)

  • Serotonin Modulators and Stimulators (SMRIs).

  • Serotonin Antagonists and Reuptake Inhibitors (SARIs).

  • Lithium – there have been reports of death, heart failure, seizures.

What if I am having a hard experience?

This is a large part of the growth potential of ceremony. The best path forward in difficult experiences is to lie down, focus on your breath, and accept whatever is coming up. Allow the experience to be what it is without resistance or judgement. Trying to make sense of the experience while you are in it can lead to deeper confusion.  This will be discussed in depth in conjunction with coaching processes work during Roots.

Does Foundationz supply the mushrooms for the ceremony?

No. Foundationz does not supply or distribute psilocybin. We are a coaching and retreats company.

It it possible to overdose?

Not really. The use of magic mushrooms rarely results in any life-threatening symptoms, just strong discomfort.

Are mushrooms legal in Canada?

Mushroom spore kits and are legal and are sold openly in stores or on the internet as the spores and kits themselves are legal. Psilocybin is  illegal to possess, obtain or produce without a prescription or license as at the moment they are schedule III under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. This is why we do not provide the mushrooms for your journey. You must source them yourself.

Is it better to do ceremony in group or alone?

If you have a group that is interested in doing this type of experience as a group, that can be a lot of fun. Either way the ceremony itself, everyone will have their own cabin. However the solo experience can also be very profound and often more personal and intimate.
